Alex’s CVQO story – BTEC, ILM and City & Guilds qualifications

Alex Anderson is a CVQO Ambassador and has completed many of the qualifications we offer. He started his journey with a BTEC Level 2 and has achieved two of our adult awards as part of his RAF career.

“I started my CVQO journey when I was a cadet with the RAFAC and had the opportunity to undertake the BTEC Level 2 in Teamwork and Personal Development and the ILM Level 3 in Leadership and Management. I really enjoyed these qualifications as they allowed me to complete the work in manageable sections and gave me clear direction, which suited my learning style.

“I had the absolute privilege to be nominated for the CVQO Westminster Award in 2018 and, was incredibly humbled to be named the winner at the House of Lords awards ceremony. The whole experience was truly life changing and I made friends that I am still in contact with today.

“Following this, I was keen to undertake more qualifications with CVQO so I undertook the BTEC Level 3 in Education and Training to improve my ability to create inclusive learning opportunities. More recently, I decided to undertake the City & Guilds Level 5 in Leadership and Management through my current role within the Royal Air Force as a Logistics Supplier.

“The support I have had from CVQO throughout the years has been second to none and the opportunities provided to young people and cadet forces adult volunteers are brilliant. I believe that the qualifications I enrolled on with CVQO have made me a more rounded person and honed my skill set, which has boosted my output in the working environment. I couldn’t recommend utilising the opportunities offered by CVQO enough.”
