About our ILM Level 3 qualification
Our ILM level 3 qualification in Leadership and Management is an internationally recognised qualification for line managers, team leaders and supervisors. It offers the perfect development opportunity for new, existing and aspiring managers that lead teams.
This qualification is ideal if you have management of, or leadership responsibility for others, but no formal training.
The ILM Level 3 is unit-based and the content will differ according to the combination of units used by each delivery course.
The following units may be included in the qualification:
- Solving problems and making decisions
- Giving briefings and making presentations
- Understanding leadership
- Leading and motivating a team effectively
The length of the course will depend upon the Cadet Vocational College delivery partner running the course. It should take approximately 40 hours to deliver the taught content, the independent preparation, study and the writing of the assignments.
As a learner, you are entitled to support from a Cadet Vocational College mentor.
You may enrol and complete the qualification at any stage during the year.
As a tutor, you will be supported by an ILM subject specialist from Cadet Vocational College. If you are delivering an ILM L3 through Cadet Vocational College, a quality assurance check will also need to be completed on a regular basis.
To enrol on this course you must be over the age of 16 and be in a position where you are responsible for leading or managing others. Ideally, you should also have achieved GCSE grade 4 or C, or an equivalent Level 2 qualification in English.
You should use your workplace as the basis for your assignments. Alternatively, you could use your responsibilities in a voluntary organisation or your responsibilities within school, a cadet force or youth group to complete your assignments.

Georgia AllisonPutting the ILM Level 3 Award on my university application gives me the edge over others my age applying for the same course.
It gives me a better chance of being selected as it shows that I have a level of commitment and leadership above others who have not completed the qualification.
