Matthew brings a wealth of experience in education, engineering, and military service to his role at Cadet Vocational College.
After a 25-year career in the British Army as a professional soldier, he spent five years as a highways engineer in the civil engineering sector before transitioning into education. Over the past decade, he has worked as a college lecturer and vocational assessor, supporting learners to develop practical skills and achieve recognised qualifications.
Matthew holds an impressive academic background, including an MSc in Project Management, an MBA, and a BEng (Hons) in Engineering Management. He is also a qualified teacher and mentor, holding a PGCLTHE from Manchester Metropolitan University.
A committed adult volunteer, Matthew has been a CFAV with the RAF Air Cadets since 2012. He has held a range of leadership roles, including Wing Warrant Officer for Trent Wing, Officer Commanding 201 OS (Guernsey) Squadron, and Sector Commander for Derbyshire.
In his spare time, Matthew enjoys motorcycling and continues to support young people as a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Leader.
