Based in Eyemouth in the Scottish Borders, Fiona joined Cadet Vocational College in September 2022 as Teaching and Learning Manager for the North.
Her volunteering journey began in 2010 with the Scouts, where she earned her Wood Badge with the 5th Berwick group. In 2019, she joined the Sea Cadets in Dunbar as a Civilian Instructor, later becoming a Petty Officer and taking on roles including Training Officer, Stores, and Area Staff Officer for Vocational Qualifications in the Northern Area. Following the birth of her daughter in 2023, Fiona returned to the Dunbar unit in a governance role as Chairperson.
Fiona was educated in Berwick-upon-Tweed and spent over a decade working in schools and nurseries. In 2010, she became a Teaching Assistant at Berwick Middle School, achieving HLTA status and supporting young people with additional needs. She recently completed the Level 3 Award in Education and Training with Cadet Vocational College.
A passionate musician, Fiona plays the clarinet to Grade 8 standard and is also proficient on the cello and whistle, regularly performing with local bands. In her spare time, she enjoys visiting local attractions, attending theatre and music festivals, socialising, and weekend getaways.
