Glyn Potts MBE DL is the Chief Executive Officer of Greater Manchester Youth Federation and a former Headteacher with significant experience in senior educational leadership. He led Blessed John Henry Newman RC College in Oldham from 2018 to 2025, having progressed through roles including Learning Mentor, teacher and senior leader, and played a key role in driving improvement and sustaining strong outcomes for pupils.
He began his career in education in 2003 and is known for his values-driven approach and commitment to improving life chances for young people. He holds a BA (Hons) from Manchester Metropolitan University and a Master’s degree in leadership, alongside more than 25 years of service with the Army Cadet Force in senior regional roles.
Glyn was appointed Deputy Lieutenant for Greater Manchester in 2020 and awarded an MBE in 2022 for services to education and the Army Cadet Force. He continues to focus on youth development and community impact across the region.
