Do you play a musical instrument or sing? Cadet Vocational College offers three music units as part of its BTEC Level 2 qualification in Teamwork and Personal Development in the Community. Musical skill doesn’t appear overnight, so this is the chance to gain recognition for time spent practising and learning new material as well as your dedication to good musical habits and regular participation. You may select more than one music unit, or indeed may wish to consider all three.
Music Induction: This is where you will meet with your tutor and have chance to discuss your intentions and expectations.

Unit 12 – Planning and creating a music product: Are you a born organiser? Do you like to have a say in what your group perform and how you market yourselves? This unit gives opportunity for you to stage a live, recorded or online music product and reflect on the processes involved.

Unit 13 – Solo music performance: This unit gives opportunity for you to showcase your solo performing skills (with or without accompaniment). You will reflect upon and evaluate both your selection of musical repertoire and the rehearsal time required to enable you to give your optimum performance.

Unit 14 – Working as a musical ensemble: Perhaps performing on your own as a soloist isn’t quite your thing, but you are a member of a musical ensemble or group. This unit allows you to reflect on your role within the group and how decisions are made around what, where and how you will perform.
